About Department

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the NSQF.

 

Department of B. Voc. (Automotive Electronics) has been established in the Academic Year 2018-19 at Prof. R. More Arts, Commerce and Science College, Akurdi, Pune-411044

 

The B. Voc. Automotive Electronics course objects to develop knowledge and understanding of electronic circuit designing capabilities among undergraduate students.

Vision

The vision of B. Voc. (Automotive Electronics) is to promote profession of Automotive Electronics and to encourage business attitude by electronic circuit designing activities and its expanding knowledge of students in the same field towards innovation and technological development via advance teaching and skill acquiring tools.

 

Mission

The mission of the B. Voc. (Automotive Electronics) department is to inspire, educate and prepare students to become innovative professionals or entrepreneurs with requisite skills.

Objectives

The vocational educational programme mainly focuses on Job specific Skills rather than the board or council based education. This programme has been initiated with the affiliation of Savitribai Phule Pune  University  (SPPU) and with approval of University Grant Commission(UGC).

The main objective of this programme is to enable students to acquire skills and learn the fundamental technologies by engaging them in on-the-job training of the industry/organizations along with the theory classes in a academic scene.To understand Safety standards, advances in towards autonomous vehicles and vehicle on board and off board diagnostics.

B.Voc. Automotive Electronics boosts students via conferences, workshops, seminars, Exhibitions, Training & designing activities to promote their innovative ideas and creative skills:

  • First year BVAE students (08) have demonstrated their Models of electronic circuits designing in "Science Exhibition-2018" held at Prof. Ramkrishna More Arts, Commerce and Science College, Akurdi, Pune (411044) India.  (12 Dec 2018)

  • BVAE students have conducted training Workshop on Electronic Circuit Designing for Household Applications held at Department of Physics (for SYBSc & TYBSc students), Prof. Ramkrishna More Arts, Commerce and Science College, Akurdi, Pune (411044)  India.  (14 Dec 2018)
  • State Level Seminar on "Advancing Entrepreneurship: Inspiring Young People-2018" was organized by department of B. Voc. It was sponsored by Research Cell, Savitribai Phule Pune University. First year BVAE students (11) have presented their Posters of work carrie out during their electronic designing. (21-22 Dec 2018)
  • Conducted educational visit at Grand ISRO Space Exhibition? held at V.J.T.I. , Mumbai to see Space Vehicles, PSLVs, GSLVs, Rockets, Satellites, Automated Robotics etc. Organized by B.Voc.   • Conducted educational visit & training at ?Vignyan Ashram Pabal? held for Conventional Energy Resources, Internationally ranked Fab Lab3-D printing technology, Modern automated kitchenPCB designing technologies (Milling process, Grinding etc.) Organized by B.Voc. Department, Prof. Ramkrishna More Arts, Commerce and Science College, Akurdi, Pune (411044) India.  (05 April 2019).
  • First Year BVAE Two students have participated "Science Exhibition" poster presentation held at Prof. Ramkrishna More Arts, Commerce and Science College, Akurdi, Pune (411044) India.(13 dec 2021) . 
  • Also student are also encouraged from Guest lectures, competitions, projects and industrial surveys for better academic understanding.

Teaching Methods

Lecture Method

  • There are 4 lectures per week for the 4 credit courses. Duration of each lecture is 60 minutes.
  • Teaching is done through circuit, componets demonstration & model making method.
  • Apart from books actual industrial & research experience is shared in lectures.

Laboratory Methods

  • We encourage our students to understand electronic circuit design process and work out carried our in industrial & commercial scale.
  • To enhance designing skills small household circuit & kits for hobbies are given to students.
  • Students are derected to carry out project of circuit design projects at commercial scale with low cost.

ICT

  • Power point presentations method is used for advance technological & industrial processing to the students.
  • Video tutorials of various design activities and construction techniques are used for better understanding of students.
  • Google classroom facility is used by the faculty and students. Assignments, teaching-learning material, PowerPoint presentations are shared through google classroom. 

Experiential Learning

  • Students are advised to conduct regular industrial surveys.
  • To enhance presentation skills case studies are presented by students.
  • To prepare students for the profession, students are juried for their design projects and given a chance to interact with professional designers.
