Department of Psychology established in 2006 at Special level for BA Program and in 2010 at MA Program. Department introduced One-year diploma course named Post Graduate Diploma in School Psychology in 2017.

Currently Department has a good infrastructure facility. Department is occupied with 1800 sq. feet specious experimental laboratory. There are 30 aq. Feet?s 8 cubical for smooth conduction and administration of Test and Experiment. Psychology laboratory is full of various types of standardized Psychological Tests and Experimental Apparatus. There are hundreds of tests which is measures cognitive ability of the person.

Department also provide counselling service to students as well as society. Department established Counseling center in 2010. With the help of Human education society, Pune which is reputed counselling institute, department organized counselling camp. Various types of activities run by the department throughout the academic year.

Teaching Methods

Lecture method

Lectures last 48 minutes and there will be four per week for BA course. Lectures take place in classrooms, with one teacher responsible for each course. For MA and PGDSP course 1 hr. lecture and four lectures per subject per week.

 Psychological Practical Method

There is practical course assigned to third year of BA course and First year of MA Course.

During practical work student will have practical session and demonstration

 Project and Practicum Method

Project work is compulsory for MA Second year students. Students done the research work on day to day life  and  psychological issues.

 Practicum work allowed the students to practice their counselling skills and to handle different psychological cases.There are two special level subject 1) Clinical Psychology 2) Counselling Psychology 

Clinical Psychology students studies mental disorder cases in mental hospital and counselling psychology students studies different types of  behavioural prolems.

PowerPoint presentations are used for teaching purposes.

Videos of psychological experiments are used by faculty and students.

SPSS software used for analysis of psychological data for research project.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom Facility used by faculty as well ae students.Students are enrolled according to class in google classroom. Every academic information is provoied on google classroom as like exam notices, power point presentation, study related material etc.

PGDSP

Department runs Post Graduate Diploma in School Psycholgy (PGDSP) course from academic year 2017-18. This course is runs only at two Institutes, first institute is Jnana Prabodhini, Pune and second is our institute Prof. Ramkrishna More Arts, Commerce & Science College, Akurdi. This course is professional course.
